Renwick is the true heart of the Marlborough Wine Country. One of the finest ways to truly enjoy the vineyards and the wineries of Marlborough is to rent a bike and slowly make your way around from Renwick. The perfect way to travel and see this beautiful countryside.

We discovered the Olde Mill B&B right in the middle of Renwick where Diane and Robert have gone out of their way to provide a fabulous place to hang out and also provide top quality bikes to venture forth into the world of the grape. If you stay at the Olde Mill House B&B  you are given the complimentary use of the bicycles by the way. Reason enough to stay there.

The B&B is only two blocks from the main part of the village and five minutes from  the airport. They will be glad to make airport transfers. Not a bad weekend escape from the big city if you ask me. A quiet friendly B&B  hidden  away  in the middle of the wine country.  Can you picture it? But wait there's more.  They will also  provide  free transport  to the local vineyard restaurants for an evening meal. You won't have to worry about how many glasses of wine you consume.  Now that's a real treat.

Paula and I stopped by and were shown around the place. What a spot. It was built in 1929 as the home of the owner of the old saw mill where the place gets its name. Want to see some top wood work it's all over the house and beautifully restored.

Diane and Robert have spent a great deal of time making the grounds lush with a large verandah and an outdoor spa and barbecue area. Talk about a place to relax and enjoy in the very middle of the wine country. From here it is directly into the back roads to visit as many vineyards as you want. We were told fifteen is the record ......on bikes! But saying that there are a lot real close so it's not hard to take just a short ride and see as many as you like.

So if you are in the Marlborough Wine Country or are planning to pass through don't hurry. Stop a day or two and lay back in the outdoor spa, sipping on the best sauvignon blanc in the world right here in Renwick at the Old Mille House B&B. Besides after a day on the bike your legs may enjoy the soaking.

Anyhow how can you pass it up?
