Rakaia/Rangitata Region Information:

A region where salmon fishing is of great importance with the rivers around being prime locations for the fishermen.

Just south on the right past the Rakaia River is the place to stop at the Rakaia River Holiday Park. Settings in large trees a sheltered peaeful setting and close to the river if you want to try your luck at salmon fishing.The blackboard in the kitchen is full of catches 10/12 lbs. Looks like January must be the best month by the list. Have to ask the experts when you stop.
