There
are over 200 camper van sites, 30 tent sites and 5 cabins with
kitchens. Seriously perfect camground.
Great
place to hang out by the beach! Absolutely beautiful. Plenty more to
enjoy
around the area.
Lots
of walks for all levels form a stroll to the beach to serious several
hours. Check out the Waipu Cove website.
How about the Waipu Caves, 300 metres of
explored
passageways in the Caves. The main cavery is about 175 metres in length
and contains one of the longest stalagmites in New Zealand which is
eight feet high and six feet in diameter at the base.
If you enjoy wildlife
birds in particular the Waipu River Mouth and Estuary refuge is home to
rare or threatend species the
New Zealand
dotterel, variable oyster catcher and New Zealand fairy tern, reff
heron, ryebill, caspian tern and banded dotterel.
